Our weekend away.

This weekend Pete booked us a weekend away at Dullstroom. We asked my Sister to look after the boys and the cat. What a lovely weekend it was. The weather was amazing on Friday, we even tried to fish in one of the dams. No luck, it was still a bit cold. On Saturday the wind blew so hard, it was awesome! We went walking up the Koppie in the wind, and stood on the Koppie and looked all around us. The view was magnificent! It’s flat and rocky, the winter colours were everywhere. In spring and summer the green is just as pretty. Sunday morning we woke up to the most glorious mist. It was so thick we couldn’t see very far. The mist was so thick in amongst the trees it looked like it was raining just in the trees. What a sight.

We love Dullstroom. It’s quiet and safe and the air is so clean and crisp. We decided to drive to town on Sunday morning and did some shop meandering. We bought a whole lot of gifts for Pete’s Sister and family who will be joining us in September. They arrive here on the 18th form New Zealand. We also found a Christmas shop in Dullstroom. So I bought a whole lot of Christmas goodies! It was such a surprise to find a Christmas shop in Dullstroom. I will be getting most of my decoration from that shop.

We booked a holiday for us and the boys in Dullstroom in October. We can’t wait to spend some more time there. We have been going to Dullies for years now, and always go back because of the peace and tranquility.

Pete bought us some Pink Moet et Chandon for the weekend. That Champagne is so delicious, we bought my Sister and Brother-in-law a bottle aswel to say thanks for looking after the boys and the cat. I got thoroughly sozzled on the Champagne, it’s yummy stuff! Have found my new favourite drink!

Getting back to Gauteng and the daily grind and hussle and bussle was such a downer yesterday. But life goes on, one cannot holiday forever. Pity that. Anyway, we are all really looking forward to October, to our long getaway to Dullies.

More mist.

The ducks on the dam, probably scared away the fish!

A holiday gives one a chance to look backward and forward, to reset oneself by an inner compass.
